Doctor & I Me Dr Sally Ahmed
My Job Working at Dr. Ahmed’s office, I have had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Ahmed and view issues that patients undergo. I assist the nurses in gathering important vital information on each patient and organize materials. Assisting the doctor and nurses is my primary job and goal.
Job Requirements • No tardiness • No eating or drinking in certain areas • Appropriate Clothing(Comfortable, no fabric hanging loose) • No phones
Typical Day at Work If I had the opportunity to gain a doctors degree right now, I would start my practice with a partner and ultimately bring myself to opening multiple offices. I would specialize in Dentistry and would treat all patients in order to be exposed to numerous symptoms and issues involving all ages and genders.
Personal Job Description Everyday at Dr. Ahmed’s office is new and exciting. At times, I would shadow the Doctor and take notes on patients and other times I would help assist the nurses on entering chart information or organizing office materials (medicines, cleaning patient rooms).
The Doctors Job Trained in all areas of medicine, Dr. Ahmed diagnoses and treats a wide range of problems. Dr. Ahmed is a specialist in preventing and treating most acute illnesses and helps patients manage issues.
Favorite on-the-job experience My second week interning, Dr. Ejaz Ahmed allowed me to scrub into a minor surgery he performed on a 50 year old man who was in need of a pace maker. Looking down on the heart beating and bare skin was one of the most exhilarating experiences.
What I have learned Once unsure of entering the field of medicine in the future, My desire for becoming a doctor has built up due to viewing patients issues and their gratitude towards Doctors. Being able to watch Dr. Ahmed’s skills, I have learned the importance of a doctor and how much they are needed in society.
I appreciate… Most doctors don’t allow their interns to enter patient rooms or scrub in on minor surgeries. Given that opportunity, I will always thank both Dr. Sally and Ejaz Ahmed for giving me a life changing experience and trusting me to act professional in thrilling situations.
Impact on my goals I learned a great deal about Ms. Antoinette when she explained how she dealt with personal hardships aside from nursing school. Motivating me every day to learn something new and stay focused, I learned so many vital lessons from her that I know will aid me in keeping a positive mindset in whatever I choose to do.
Remembering my experience I will always remember the excitement, happiness, and at times thrill this experience has given to me. A smile planted on the patients face when easing their mental and physical pain is an unexplainable feeling that made me feel accomplished at the end of the day. Being exposed to rare infections and issues always created new questions in my head that made me learn something which will help me build a strong base for my future.
