HENCHMEN, ATTACK!!! SPELLING I’M NOT EQUIPPED TO DEAL WITH THIS! I CAN TAKE THIS GUY. THE STUDENT YIKES!

  2. Write Traits HERE ARE SOME TOOLS TO HELP YOU DEFEAT THE WRITING BEAST IDEAS ORGANIZATION VOICE WORD CHOICE SENTENCE FLUENCY THIS STUFF IS AWESOME! NOW I’M READY TO TAKE ON THAT WRITING BEAST!

  7. Write Trait #1: Ideas Ideas are the writer’s message; they are the raw materials of a piece of writing. IDEAS + = Take a look at the “Student Rubric for Ideas.”

  8. Write Trait #1: Ideas Read “A Special Moment” together. Step #1: Key Questions Does the paper have a clear main message? Does the writer focus, or jump around from topic to topic? Does the writer share helpful, unusual, and interesting details? Do the details create a clear picture in your head as your read?Does the reader leave out irrelevant details? Are there sensory details (sounds, smells, etc.)? Are the reader’s most important questions answered? Step #2: Details Highlight any details that seem strong or vivid Score the paper on your rubric Discuss your rating with a partner Score the paper as a class.

  11. Write Trait #1: Ideas Homework: Revise and re-write your writing from yesterday so that it will score better on the ideas rubric. Notes: Revised writing should be at least 5 sentences, and should show clear improvements from the original. I will be taking these in to mark tomorrow.
