Assessment of subject matter and educational technology is simultaneous. The assessments offer teachers the opportunity to build technology integration skills.
The assessments are aligned deeply to subject matter and educational technology standards.

1.3.2 Locate and organize information from a variety of sources and media. • Select appropriate search engines or directories. • Use basic functions of search engines and databases. • Catalog and organize resources. Use the total points to determine the level of performance represented by the work.

Use the task and scoring tools as written. The Sample Unit Plan provides guidelines for: • Session Goals • Educational Technology & Subject Standards • Estimated Time • Materials for Educational Technology
The Background summarizes the Session. There is additional guidance on preparation to teach the Session. Learning Plans model the components of a “5E Cycle” — engage, explore, explain, evaluate, extend — and contain sample activities and formative assessment strategies.
Choose tools that match your classroom equipment, access, and student needs. Coordinate with IT staff to make sure the tools you want to use are not blocked by the district Internet filter.
Video resources can provide background information and instruction for staff or students. Additional Lesson Plans are available for pre-teaching, re-teaching, or extending concepts. We include information on federal policy. Districts often have additional policies that cover Internet use.
