In your spiral notebook… • write “Complex Sentences” Cornell Notes from Grammar for Writing wkbk page 154 . • Write each sentence. Identify the following dependent and independent clauses. 1. Darryl looked after my dog while I was away. 2. Bring your backpack when you come to school today. 3. When my mother was young, she listened to James Brown records. 4. While you are writing, please listen to the instructions. 5. Before you go to school, please take the dog for a walk.

Materials: Agenda Pencil or blue/black ink pen Grammar for Writing workbook Spiral notebook (notes) Loose-leaf paper (rough draft) Journal notebook (conflict)

  3. “What choices will you make today?” • thinkers: choose one of your life experiences to write about • principled and risk-takers: begin writing your Autobiographical Narrative (double-spaced: skip lines on your paper).

What choices will you make for your “autobiographical narrative” today? • Loose-leaf paper • Include 5 compound sentences • Include 5 complex sentences • Based on an experience you have had • Tell a story (including conflict and climax) • MINIMUM of 3 paragraphs • Include title • Make it INTERESTING!!! • Double-spaced!!!
