Presentations are important • They should bring excitement into the classroom, through pictures, color, presentations that grab a child’s attention, fast! • The presentation should explain the material so that the student can learn the material.
Tools for presentations • Overhead Projectors- Displays commercial or teacher made transparencies against a screen, classroom wall, or whiteboard. • Digital Projectors- displays real-time computer images from the computer, Displays software or internet for large groups. • Presentations that show videos.
Getting students interest • Humor can be helpful to a presentation. Everyone enjoys humor and what better way of learning is to laugh with it. Any age in the classroom can use humor with learning. You can smile in school! • In a PowerPoint presentation, avoid to much text on one slide, add pictures and colors to attract ones eye.
Images are powerful • Humans process visuals 60,000 faster than text. • Images are stored in long-term memory • Different areas of the brain become more active when individuals are exposed to verbal and visual information. • Rather then using pictures to “decorate” text, they can support dual coding and in turn increase comprehension.
Visuals and color in the classroom • Images and video can break down the walls of the classroom and take our students places they’ve never seen before. • Visually rich presentations draw students in and be more engaging. • Benefits of color in a presentation can increase willingness to read by up to 80%, increase motivation and participation up to 80% too. • Some more facts on the powers of images, go to, http://67techcamp.weebly.com/create-powerful-presentations.html
