Initial Assessment Of Competency (IAC) • First anaesthesia training milestone • A basic understanding of anaesthesia • Give anaesthetics at a appropriate level of supervision • Added to the on-call rota for anaesthesia.
Initial Assessment Of Competency (IAC) • Normally achieved within the first three to six months • The assessment doubles as the required assessments for the basis of anaesthetic practice. • To pass the IAC, trainees must successfully complete 19 workplace based assessments
Initial Assessment of Competency • Summative • DOPS, A-CEXs, CBDs • Certificate
What IAC is not • NOT A LICENSE TO PRACTICE INDEPENDENTLY
