  4. Georgia Rural HIT Forum Picking the Right Vendor, one who will work with us Financially ! “The cost & need for Capital” ? Wait for their Monies at time of incentive payments ! Begin Installation by July 2011 ! Provide Interface to current “financial vendor” & ancillary equipment, (Lab, Radiology, etc.) ! HL7 & Dicom ! Web Based, to tie in off campus NH 9 Miles away, etc. ! Easy to Use & Cost Effective ! Wireless bed side ability ! Certified for MU Stage I & future, Guaranteed or no pay ! Willing to Customize to our needs & wants ! Responsible for building all Files & Tables ! Financially Sound, Educated & Experienced Vendor ! “On site” Training on demand !

  5. Georgia Rural HIT Forum Establish: In House Blue Ribbon Committee ! Signed agreement with RazorInsights Mid April ! The BRC is the major contact with vendor’s personnel & follow-up ! BRC is made up of Providers, Department Heads & Management. Conforming to Hospital Policy & Procedures, Clinical Needs, ID changes & Training ! Daily & Weekly meetings with vendor ! Installed & Began 90 day attestation period July 1st. For Medicare ! CAHs can apply for both Medicare& Medicaid. However, hospital must show a 10% Medicaid patient volume ! First, establish joint account with CMS, this starts you with both ! To upload, you must have a Web Acct. with Medicaid’s portal. Make sure you have all information need to Register. Validate Hospital in PECOS, and have your CCN, NPI, TIN #s ready. Both require a Vendor Contract & proof of use to apply for Medicaid ! Your Vendor must have a Certification # to apply !

  6. Georgia Rural HIT Forum Attesting, Training & Implementation ! Applied for Medicaid incentive payments Sept. 21st. & Received 1st. of 3 payments Sept. 27th. 2011. (40,40,20% ) ! Vendor was on site every day from April thru August ! CPOE started 1st. Week of July, all application were go except financial interface. Went online in August due to the Financial vendor delays. Training is ongoing with “Train the Trainers” process ! Vendor has provided several changes that we have asked for. Must report on the required Core & Clinical measures. You must attest the implementation of the 23 stage I Objectives We applied for Medicare monies the 1st., week of Oct. after the 90 days period. Payment Dec. 23rd. (1st. of 4 payments).

  7. Georgia Rural HIT Forum Attesting, Training & Implementation ! (Cont.) Eligible Professionals (physicians & Mid-Levels) can apply for either program but not both. We chose the Medicaid option, as in our case it will pay more ! Eligible Professionals must meet the 30% Medicaid patient volume requirement. Check for exceptions. Must have signed contract & prove implementation of a certified system ! BRC job is not done after installation. It must maintain continuity & quality of training plus, address changes & follow-up issues ongoing !
