Research Faculty • The Dept. has a long history of outstanding research, with internationally known faculty and a Nobel Prize winner, Frederick C. Robbins. • It currently has 28 primary faculty, 87 secondary/adjunct faculty, and more expected. • It is strongly interdisciplinary, with links across the CWRU campus and extending to the UH, CCF, MetroHealth, and to similar entities across the US and internationally.

WhyBiostatistics • Statistics is the science of data. • Biostatisticsaddresses all aspects of statistics that arise from medical and health-related sciences, with tools, techniques and science essential to these areas and applicable to all areas requiring statistics expertise. • Job Prospect: As stated in the NY Times: “For Today’s Graduate, Just One Word: Statistics.” Further, Wall St also projected: Future statistics job openings by 2020 as a percentage of 2010 employment is 74.5%.
