SÚRIA • There are 6,200 inhabitants. • There is a potash mine. • It is 80 Km from Barcelona.
About 200 pupils from 3 to 12 attend the school. • Less than 8 % of the pupils are immigrants. • The school is involved in several projects: ICT, Green School and CLIL.
Parental background • The socio-economic level of families is low and medium. • Most part of them earn their living in the potash mine. • A considerable number of parents with only primary studies. • Majority of families are Spanish speaking.

Main goals • To learn content through English. • To improve and reinforce the English linguistic competence and confidence of the pupils. • To raise awareness of learning through a language which is not L1.

CONCLUSIONS CLIL implies much more than teaching content in English CLIL is a big challenge to update our school. Future development To create more units and materials for year 5 and 6. To explainthe main issues of CLIL to the rest of the school teachers.
