  2. A process paper is a description of no more than 500 words explaining how you conducted your research and created and developed your entry. All categories except historical paper must include a process paper with their entry. To view sample process papers, visit http://www.nhd.org/ProcessPapers.htm The Process Paper should include the following four sections: explain how you chose your topic explain how you conducted your research explain how you selected your presentation category and created your project explain how your project relates to the NHD theme Requirements

  3. Paper Formatting A title page is required as the first page of written material in every category. Your title page must include only the title of your entry, your name and the contest division and category in which you are entered. Do not include your age, grade or school name. Using section headers in your paper is an effective way to organize your process paper. Sample 1 is an excellent example of a paper that uses section headings. Sample 2 and sample 3 are examples of process papers that do not use section headings. However, they use effective transitions between paragraphs to connect one idea to another. If you are worried about transitioning between paragraphs, I would recommend you use section headings.

  4. Due Dates • The rough draft of your process paper is due to on January 8th (ODD classes) or January 9th (EVEN classes). • Students that have the rough draft of their process paper on the due date will be able to participate in a peer editing session. This should allow for students to receive the best grade possible on their process paper. • Remember, your ENTIRE Social Studies fair project is due to Mr. Rupp on January 11, 2008. Good Luck!
