Introduction ▪ People immigrate to America all the time although they do it legally. (“Illegal”) ▪ Immigrating illegally is when a person is born in a different country and they come into America undocumented. (“Illegal”) ▪ Some people say that illegal immigrants come with good intentions such as, performing jobs that most Americans won’t take. Others say that they are criminals and that they put a burden on most Americans because we have to pay for them through our taxes. (“Illegal”) ▪ It is proven that once in the United States illegal immigrants are to often work in low-skilled jobs. (“Illegal Immigration.”) Immigration ▪ Now that there are not many jobs people feel as though those who are not originally from our country and that are not tax payers are taking needed jobs. (“Illegal Immigration.”) Immigration ▪ Illegal immigration is known to be a controversy within our society and contributes to both positive and negative affects within our borders. Pros ▪ There are both pros and cons about illegal immigration, and what it does to our country. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ Illegal immigrants are that they help keep the economy moving by taking low-wage jobs that most Americans would not take. For example, a landscaper in which you do not need much experience or have to speak fluent English. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ They also help by giving the country money due to them paying sales tax. When they pay for clothes, food, or any other objects they have to pay the same tax as any other American citizen has to. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ It provides a suitable and better lifestyle for someone that came from a foreign country illegally. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ They could get a job to support their families and they could also get their lives on track. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ Farmers are able to pay less to plant and harvest because of the low salary that they give the immigrants to work for them. ▪ There are many pros to illegal immigration although, there are also many cons. (Macson, Rem.)

Cons ▪ They put a burden on tax-based resources, causing taxpayers to lose billions of dollars, which makes us lose money. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ They give problems to those who did immigrate legally. People go through a lot of trouble to immigrate legally and they don’t think it is fair others don’t have to go through the same amount of troubles. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ Illegal immigrants put their health and lives at risk while traveling to reach the borders. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ They can bring diseases from foreign countries to America. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ People who do cross the borders may inspire or pressure others to do it to. Then America would be full of undocumented people that could do damage to the country. (Macson, Rem.) ▪ It would be safer for people to immigrate legally because you many get caught and be put in jail. (Macson, Rem.)

Data description • Based on the results gathered from the surveys, adults and students had both similarities and differences in their opinions of illegal immigration. • Proven from the results of the first questions, a big portion of adults would rather have an American citizen that insists on a higher salary than an illegal immigrant who will work for little or, less salary. A very few people picked the options “not sure” and “no”. Someone wrote in their explanation that they wouldn’t mind an illegal immigrant to work for them on a low –skilled job. This proves many adults would rather interact and have their work done by a person that is a citizen. The results show that most kids would rather have an illegal immigrant who will work for little or less pay than an American citizen who wanted higher pay to work for them. The students and adults voted completely different on the first question. • The results from the second question show that both adults and students feel that our country needs to put more money into the security of the US borders. A couple of people voted “not sure” although, a very few people voted “no”. This shows that people would appreciate others to not come into our country illegally. • The results from the third question show that the same amount of adults said “not sure” and “no”. About half of the adults chose the option “yes”. This shows that most people think that illegal immigrants put a risk on the citizen’s safety. Exactly half of the students chose the option “yes” and more students picked the option “not sure” over the option “no”. • The results from the fourth questions show that a huge amount of students picked the option “yes”. This shows that they think if you make the illegal immigration process easier that many people wouldn’t immigrate legally. A very small amount of people chose the options “not sure” and “no”. A little less than half of adults chose the option “yes”. About the same amount of people chose the answers “no” and ”not sure”. • The results show from the fifth question that a little less than half of adults chose the option “yes”. This proves than many people think illegal immigration is a crime. Six people chose the option “no” and five people chose the option “not sure”. More than half of students chose the option “yes”. Five chose “no” and four chose “not sure”.

Conclusion • According to the results gathers in the survey, adults and students had contrasts and similarities in their opinions about illegal immigration. • The results from question one show, adults and students have different views on illegal immigrants working for them. • The results from question two show that adults and students have the same opinions on the amount of money going into the security of the US borders. • The results obtained from question three shows that about the same amount of adults as students feel that illegal immigrants put a risk to the citizen’s safety. • The results from question four shows that students and adults have different opinions on if you make the illegal immigration process and how if it was easier less people would immigrate illegally. • Results from the fifth question show that both adults and students think illegal immigration is a crime. • The survey taken by the adults and students was to show the opinions of illegal immigration throughout kids and adults.
