The looks of Rip Van Winkle • The looks of Rip Van Winkle is that he is an old man with nothing that he can do on his own because he is a hen- pecked husband. • Rip Van Winkle is a man that does chores for other people except for his wife. • Rip loved to go to the Kaatskil mountains because gets to escape from his wife and all that he has to do for her and all the people who he does stuff for.
The setting where Rip Van Winkle took place!!!!! • The setting of the book is in New York when King George the third was the king. • The second setting of the book was in the Kaatskill mountains while he got drunk and fell asleep after 20 years.
Problem and Effect • In the book, the problem was that Rip Van Winkle met this small little elf who had a basket full of alcohol. • Rip Van Winkle took one of the bottles and drank it, and woke up 20 years later, after the Revolutionary War.
Climax of Rip Van Winkle • The climax of the book, is when he knew that he was in the United States of America because all the people were looking at him and wearing different clothing that weren't worn in his time period. • All the dogs that Rip passed were barking at him when he passed them in the neighborhood and they usually didn’t when he didn’t fall asleep. • No one in the city knew that he was the missing Rip Van Winkle that was gone 20 years ago.
Resolution • The resolution of Rip Van Winkle was that he told everyone his name and that everyone blurted out that they knew he was him because he found his daughter. • He was asking her about her mother and she said that she died after she thought that Rip had died in the Kaatskil mountains. • He moved in with her daughter and was relieved that he found his dog ‘’Wolf’’ who left him in the mountains and stayed with his daughter wasn’t a hen-pecked husband.
