Healthy Habits Course: Introduction to Education Instructor: Sandra White Facilitator: Dianne Phillips Team Members: Stephanie Spears, Shea Sisemore, Kristy Stolz
Introduction Our service project was created for Mrs. Spradling’s Kindergarten class at Pea Ridge Elementary School. Our goal was to reinforce the importance of basic health. We feel that teaching the students personal wellness is a key essential in everyday life. Basic health concepts are often disregarded at a young age, but when incorporated into their daily routines it helps the students develop good health habits that benefit them for the rest of their lives.
Project Overview • This project covered the topics eating nutritious foods, germs, and proper dental care. • This project was interactive and collaborative with Mrs. Spradling’s current lesson plans. • The materials and activities we provided for this project ensured that the students would be able to carryout what they were taught at home.
