Research on the current Arts Barge Project Arts Barge image takes up the majority of the main page. (Wasted Space) No title on the page, It isn't clear what the page is The website could be easier to use as it currently involves lots of scrolling in order to find information. Menu buttons aren't clear and the colour scheme could be improved.
Research on the current Arts Barge Project • They are a community collective of performers and art enthusiasts • There is lots of co operation and support for the arts barge project from places in the local area such as York St John University, York Music Hub etc. • The art and music therapy sessions are popular with people that have disabilities. The arts barge website does not cater for disabled people and doesn't’t provide any information. Therefore it hinders the arts barge’s publicity as it is unlikely to attract more disabled people.
Disability Discrimination Act 1995 • After checking the disability discrimination act, we saw that the arts barge project didn’t utilise their website well enough to accommodate for disabled visitors/customers that would be getting their services of musical and arts therapies. • The act states that it is unlawful to discriminate against people in respect of their disabilities in relation to employment, the provision of goods and services, education and transport. • Because the arts barge project offers art and music therapy sessions as a service we felt that their website could be improved if there was a disability section and also more features on the website that made it more accessible for those with disabilities to use.
