An Intro to Hillingdon Youth and Connexions Service Hillingdon Youth and Connexions Service is: • Located within the Council’s Education and Children’s Services Group • A conjoined youth and connexions service structure, with staff working across traditional professional boundaries with young people • One of only 19 services in the UK accredited with the National Youth Agency Quality Mark
Statement of Purpose The Youth Service helps young people to learn about themselves, others and the wider world, through informal educational opportunities that respond to their developmental needs, aspirations and concerns, and combine enjoyment, challenge and learning. The Service works with young people in Hillingdon, from different backgrounds and with differing needs, aged 11 to 25, with a focus on those aged 13 to 19.

An Intro to Hillingdon Youth and Connexions Service The Youth Service: • Provides informal learning, personal and social development opportunities to young people aged 8-25, with a primary focus on the 13-19’s • Provides open access learning opportunities to all young people who live, work or study in Hillingdon and targeted interventions to those at risk • Directly delivers its services

An Intro to Hillingdon Youth and Connexions Service Personal Advisor key accountabilities: • To manage a caseload of young people, supporting them to overcome barriers to learning • To ensuring that the young person is (re) engaged in: • Education; • Training; and/or • Employment.
