  2. TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 2:12-13 (ESV) 12Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

  3. Philippians 2:12-13 (NLT) 12Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.  13For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

  4. Philippians 2: 3-4 (ESV) 3Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humilitycount others more significant than yourselves. 4Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

  7. 1 Corinthians 1: 17(NKJV) But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Philippians 1:6 -being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

  8. HOW TO HAVE A GREAT WORK Submit to your trainer James 4: 10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

  9. Ephesians 6:6-7(NKJV) 6not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,  7with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 

  10. The Principle: “The real test of maturity is how you live your life when the props are gone”

  11. 2. Work Out Hard (…Work hard to show the results of your salvation,…V12) Work out is a continuous, and sustained effort to maintain energy.

  12. Hebrew 12:1 1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 

  13. Hebrew 12:2 2looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

  14. Hebrew 12:3 3For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

  15. 3. Follow a personal workout plan – (“… Your Own Salvation”…) 1 Peter 4:10-11 10God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 

  16. 1 Peter 4:11(NKJV) 11Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

  17. 5. Use Power Supplements – (…God’s Power works in you) Philippians 2:13 (NLT) 13For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

  18. CLOSING VERSE: Galatians 6:9 (NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
