What is Yammer@ECU? • Yammer is a portal for faculty/staff/students to connect across ECU’s campus. • With Yammer you can: • Create a profile for colleagues to view. • You can send/receive private messages and post messages on your colleagues pages. • Also share files through attachment • Join and create groups (i.e. discussion groups for your classes) • Yammer is accessible via your web browser, desktop, or mobile device. Step 1: Create Your Account • You can find Yammer@ECU on the ITCS page: http://www.ecu.edu/cs-itcs/ • Your login is the same as your ECU login • Once in Yammer, you will be walked through the steps of creating your profile.* • If you have a Facebook account, you will see that Yammer looks very similar and operates in a similar format. • Suggestion: Download Yammer to your Desktop so that it is easily accessible. You will see this option in the “Getting Started” section on your Yammer page. *View the following slide to see our GA’s profile as an example of what yours will look like. 5. To Edit Your Account 1) Click on your name in the RIGHT-HAND CORNER of your profile page. 2) Select EDIT ACCOUNT. College of Education Office of Assessment & Accreditation

6. BASICS Here you can: Change your name Update your email Upload your profile photo Delete your account College of Education Office of Assessment & Accreditation

7. PROFILE Here you can: Add your personal information you wish to share Bio Job Title Contact Info Birthday Significant Other/Kids’ Names Work/Education etc… College of Education Office of Assessment & Accreditation

8. ORG Here you can: Add an organizational chart showcasing your position within the ECU community NETWORKS • Here you can: • View a list of your Yammer networks • You can also get to the “Notifications” link (discussed later) College of Education Office of Assessment & Accreditation

9. MY APPLICATIONS Here you can: View a list of every location you have installed Yammer to. Note: Since our GA created her Yammer account via the web portal, her Install Date is listed and she has the option to Revoke Access versus Install the application on such portal. 10. NOTIFICATIONS Here you can: Change the settings to how your receive your Yammer noticfications. Note: Unless you change your digest setting, you will receive an email update of message activity from your colleagues on Yammer. College of Education Office of Assessment & Accreditation

12. You’ve learned the basics to setting up your account! With any program, the best way to learn the full scope of its capabilities is to play around with it! We encourage you to do such!
