This research study examines the development of a social policy that involves older people in policy planning and aims to combat ageist discrimination and social exclusion. It explores the implementation of a research-policy network, questionnaire, and training programs, and highlights the positive impact on the active engagement and co-ownership of older people in policymaking processes. The study also discusses the expansion of the project across Flanders and its potential application in other European municipalities.
