Goals • One will be able to understand the importance of striving to make a social change. • One will understand why social changes should be made. • One will be able to indentify social change movements. • One will be able to know ways the could impact social change movements and how they can make differences in their daily lives.

  4. Items need for presentation • Glog • Copies of article • Power point

  5. Discussion questions • What is the sociologically significant about the Johnson article? Why do sociologist care about social change? • Attempting to change sociology related problems • Changes for social institutions Ex. Race& gender

  6. What is Johnson's main point in writing this article? Does he have his own agenda? If so how does this agenda affect what he writes? • What steps does John argue we must take to end oppression?

  7. What are examples of oppression and privilege you see in your daily life? How could you positively change theses situations? • Do you believe in making social change? If so what are the benefits to social change?

  8. Article questions • What is the meaning of this quote? “we cannot create that other world, that world where many worlds fit, unless we first create another classroom” • How did the students attempt to make social change and what are your impression of it? Do you think it made an impact?
