Introduction • To multiply fractions, you multiply the numerators and multiply the denominators. • You can use this same method to multiply rational expressions.

More information • From this point on, it will be assumed that all replacements for variables in rational expressions that result in denominators equal to zero will be excluded. • You may find it easier to use a shortcut before multiplying fractions as shown in the next slide • You can use the same shortcut when multiplying rational expressions
