  3. The Nile is formed from the White Nile, which originates at Lake Victoria and the Blue Nile, which originates at Lake Tana in Ethiopia. Great Pyramids • Located in Giza, the Great Pyramids were the resting places of kings and other people of wealth. • Originally covered with a marble type rock, today they look more like the photos on the right. • The Romans defaced them with graffiti and used them for target practice.
