THE AENEID
Summary of Book 3. Aeneas continues his story to Dido. As he leaves Troy, he encounters such wonders as Polydorus, Apollo, and the island of Crete. Here Aeneas begins to build a city, but is warned by the Gods to sail elsewhere. They arrive at Strophades and are then cursed by the Harpies. Aenas then meets Andromache and Helenus as king of Buthrotum. Aeneas pilots his fleet south of Sicily to witness a Greek soldier and his tale of Ulysses and a local cyclops.
