June 5th, 1845 After a long day of crossing the Platte River, we are resting at Ash Hollow. We were able to cross the river safely, but one of the wagons in our train crashed and they lost everything. Ash Hollow is beautiful. There are many trees here. We are enjoying our first taste of fresh water in weeks.
