  2. Your task... Create a poster for your favourite book you have read so far this year. 1. Choose your favourite book from the ones you’ve read in private reading. 2. Use details from the book to include in your poster, details such as characters, setting, plot, exciting parts, etc. 3. Design a draft layout of this poster 4. Create the poster using the materials your teacher will provide.

  3. Character Find a passage in the book that describes one of the characters in words. Using these words, draw a picture of that character, then QUOTE the words below it to show that your drawing really gives a picture of that person. You can do this for a number of characters, not just one!

  4. Setting Find a passage in the book that describes where the book is SET. Using these words, draw a picture of that setting, then QUOTE those words to show that the picture really shows the setting.

  5. Plot Write down on a piece of paper the MAIN EVENTS of the book. Then put these ideas in order by numbering them. Then put these events into a FLOW DIAGRAM or a STORY BOARD on your poster.

  6. Blurb Most books have ‘blurb’ on the back – this is a short but interesting outline of what the book is about to encourage people to read it. Write your own ‘blurb’ for this book – something which you think will get people interested in it.

  7. Exciting Moments Think about the most exciting (happy, sad, tense, etc.) moment in the book. Draw a picture of what happened and label it with the characters’ names, the place where it takes place, and what is happening. Remember: YOUR POSTER MUST INCLUDE THE TITLE OF THE BOOK AND THE AUTHOR!
