Supplier Diversity Impacts The Sourcing Process To be effective, supplier diversity must impact each phase of the sourcing process Leverage Current Spend & Increase M/WBE Opportunity Supplier Diversity Manager or A/P Contact Look At Suppliers With Related Products/Services Corporate Spend Database Conduct Spend Analysis Identify Current M/WBE Suppliers Assure That M/WBEs Are Not Disadvantaged By Arbitrary Selection Criteria Supplier Diversity, Purchasing, End User Examine Criteria To Assure That M/WBEs Are Not Disadvantaged By Items Not Relevant To The Commodity Sourcing Team Meetings And/Or Customer Surveys Assess Customer Requirements Define Supplier Assessment Based On Customer Requirements Expand Supplier Base Meet SBA Audit Requirements Supplier Diversity Manager, HMBC/WBEA Contacts or CCR.gov Assess Available Databases of M/WBEs For The Commodity Internal, SDP Database, HMBC, WBEA, CCR.gov Analyze Supply Markets Identify M/WBEs In The Marketplace To Guarantee That Diverse Suppliers Are Included, If Available Supplier Diversity, Purchasing, End User Access Criteria And Customer Needs Information Gathered In Previous Steps Develop Category Strategy Identify Strategy That Includes M/WBEs Previous Data Gathering Will Include M/WBEs Supplier Diversity Manager or A/P Contact Utilize Supply Market Analysis Data And M/WBE Documentation Select Suppliers Supplier Selection Based On Previous Steps Negotiate Agreement Buyer Responsibility: Use Data Including Diversity Goals In Negotiating Agreement Record Process Supplier Diversity And Purchasing Documentation Provided By M/WBE Or Prime Supplier Verify In CCR & Size Self-Certification Form, If Required Develop Implementation Plan Include Updated Documentation Of M/BE Status Or 2nd Tier Opportunity Evaluation for Including In Next Bid Round Buyer, Buyer’s Asst., Supplier Diversity Criteria: Delivery Time, After-Market Service, Participation In Supplier Diversity Events/Reports (2nd Tier) Manage Supplier Performance Measure Performance Including Supplier Diversity Metrics (2nd Tier) NAPM-Houston Supplier Diversity Group, 2007
