Social work education in Sweden More theory and academy, (knowledge from authorities) Less practical knowledge in the education, (knowledge from yourself how to act and choose in the profession) ? Practical knowledge is not applied theory.
Aristotle´s(384-322 BC) perception of knowledge Episteme (science) Practical knowledge • There is knowledge that can´t be in another way, • that is logical and mathematical relations • There is knowledge that can be different
AristotlePractical knowledge PRAXIS POIESIS • Action • Fronesis /sagacity/ • Man has freedom to choosehow to act • The object is life itself • Consulting with yourselfwhich action is the best • Virtues like Courage, Temperance, Liberality, Magnificence, Magnanimity, Truthfulness, Friendliness etc. • Making • Techne / proficience / • Basically anonymous • It is not important who makes the job as long as it follows the plan or the receipt.

CREATIVITY & SPONTANEITY • The universe is infinite creativity. Spontaneity is the constant companion of creativity. It is the existential factor “intervening" for creative processes to be released. • Creativity is the ever nourishing maternal center; • Spontaneity is the ever moving masculine fertilizer; conserve is the product and synthesis of their interaction.
SPONTANIETY • Spontaneity is an unconservable energy and can´t be saved • “One either is spontaneous at a given moment or one is not” • Spontaneity is NOT impulsively. (Impulsive is acting from desire and often compulsive.)
TRUE SPONTANIETY • True spontaneity is a high grade creativity variety of genius. An adequate response to the situation. • Characteristics -both novel and creative • New and useful for some purpose
Spontaniety requires • The person in the profession is important (it is not the method which makes changes, it is the person in the methods) Master Eckhart (1260-1328) says ”a man can´t be whole in what he does, if he is not whole in what he is” • Warm-up- a sense of trust and safety, a receptivity to intuitions, images, feelings, a movement towards risk taking and exploration into novelty • Self-knowledge & self-awareness • Reflection
