Location is where something is. • Absolute location is a definite reference that tells you where a place is. Example: Mr. King’s room is on the first floor of building 804. • Relative location tells you where a place is by saying where it is in relation to something else. Example: Ari is two seats behind Liat. Location
Place is a description of the physical and human characteristics. • Physical characteristics include landforms like mountains, rivers, beaches, etc. It also includes the climate and the plants and animals in a place. • Human characteristics include man-made structures like buildings and cities. It also includes the culture of a place (language, food, religion, etc.) Place
This describes how humans have changed the environment around them. This could be both positive and negative things. • It might also describe how the environment of a place has affected the human culture there (climate, natural resources, etc.) Human-Environment Interaction
