Prince William and Kate have come under fire after royal fans thought a video uploaded to the couple’s official Instagram account was simply “too saucy”. The Instagram Reel clip showed highlights of William’s recent visit to Belfast for Emergency Services Day, which seems relatively harmless. However the song choice over the footage, according to some people, was anything but. The short video features the the tune ‘Watermelon Sugar’ by Harry Styles, from his Fine Line album, and is widely believed to be referring to oral sex. The tune left royal fans up in arms with some calling for the account to remain “professional”. “Is there a Teenie running this account? PLEASE - It's not too late to instagram private account viewer go back to a professional account,” one person commented. “Not to take away from the fantastic work being done here but maybe check the meaning behind watermelon sugar lyrics,” another shocked fan wrote. “Isn’t this song a bit saucy for a royal family post??” was another comment. While a fourth quipped: “Next reel gonna feature WAP lol”. So it’s no surprise the royal family’s social media team may want to appear they are keeping up with the times. However for the most part royal fans weren’t sold on the move. “I believe this page represents The future King and Queen of the UK not some wanna be Influencer. Can we please keep it bit more informative and less childish,” one person wrote. “Please do something. Love you guys and all you do but this is not great at all.”
