MCWG outlook for 2012 + H4IRRADR2E Project Meeting – 19th January 2012 M. Calviani (EN/STI) for the MCWG and R2E Mitigation Project
MCWG priorities • Outstanding priorities: • Display radiation levels on the Dashboard – slowly moving towards automatic implementation • RadMon monitoring follow-up in case of operational needs • Evolution of beam-gasduring the 25ns MD – try to push towards a “long” MD at the maximum intensity possible • Continuous analysis of TLD data • Understand streaming levels through the movable plugs in P8/4/6 MCWG outlook for 2012
MCWG priorities • Follow-up: • Review of the FLUKA simulation of the UJ14/16 updated shielding and cross-check • Follow-up of P1 RR studies + P1/5 RadMon/PMI cross-checks • Review of UX/US/45/65 FLUKA calculation, taking into account observed pressure spikes • Update of the LHCb geometry and integration with the current US85 – calculation for the LHCb upgrade to 10 fb-1? MCWG outlook for 2012
H4IRRAD • As requested by the SPSC, we have provided a Memorandum justifying the 2012 beam request: • https://cdsweb.cern.ch/record/1414454?ln=en, CERN-SPSC-2012-003 (SPSC-M-777) • We should have been approved for 48 days (out of the 60 requested), i.e. 3 slots of 16 days each (more of less like 2011) • Scheduling still not present should following the next weeks • PLCs, EN/EL UPS, EN/STI comp. tests, GTOs, power converter-related, QPS develoment (?), BPM development, FGClite, RadMon 2nd generation, etc… • Possible urgent LHC requirements like in 2011 • More info will follow via the h4irrad-users@cern.ch MCWG outlook for 2012
