Rushmore ROTC Field Training Exercise • MISSION • - Mount Rushmore ROTC conducts annual Field Training Exercise (FTX) on West Camp Rapid, SD on 30 SEP to 1 OCT to train Land Navigation, Weapons Familiarization, Field Leadership Reaction Course (FLRC) and Ranger Challenge Tasks to integrate new Cadets and prepare MS IIIs for LDAC 2012. • INTENT • - Conduct training to engage MS Is & IIs while challenging and evaluating MS IIIs. • KEY TASKS • Day & Night Land Navigation • Field Leadership Reaction Course (MS III Evaluation) • Basic Rifle Marksmanship • 10k March • Ranger Challenge Competition Prep • ENDSTATE • - Sixty-nine Cadets and eight cadre successfully completed a challenging FTX that improved the Cadets capabilities in preparation for future operations Field Leadership Reaction Course Training SUMMARY OF EVENT - All training was conducted safely and to standard to identify those who require more training on land navigation and leadership skills. Only 75% of the Cadets were able to conduct the march due to blisters, injuries and heat.
