Panes • Slide pane (tab) shows the current slide as it will appear in the slide show. • Outline pane (tab) shows a text-only display of each slide in the presentation. Here is where you can change the font throughout easily and focus on content. This primarily used for entering text only.
View • Backstageenables a user to manage files and data about files, and find frequently used features for manage PowerPoint presentation files. • Normal view enables a user to view one slide at a time. • Slide show view displays each slide so that it fills the entire screen with no toolbars or other elements.
Toolbars • Title bar contains the Quick Access Toolbar, filename, and Window control buttons. • Quick Access Toolbar contains frequently used buttons including the undo button, save button, and others. • Status bar is the area that contains the zoom control and PowerPoint view buttons.
Saving Files • Save As is used to save an existing presentation with a new name or in a new location. • Save is used to save a new presentation.
Exports and Imports • Exported files should be saved as .rtf. • Slides from Outline can be used to import information (this is under New Slide).
Autocorrect • AutoCorrect revises typing errors based upon information contained in Microsoft’s Office’s standard dictionary.
Closing vs. Exiting • Closeis used to quit the current presentation on the screen but leave the PowerPoint program open. • Exiting is used the quit the current presentation and quit the PowerPoint program.
