  2. Fact 1: • Thomas Jefferson was 6 foot 2 inches.

  3. Fact 2: • His face is craved into a sculpture at Mount Rushmore.

  4. Fact 3: • He was the first US President to shake hands with the people instead of bowing to them.

  5. Fact 4: • Jefferson’s had a pet mockingbird called Dick. It used to ride on his shoulders. He trained the bird to take bits of food from between his lips.

  6. Fact 5: • Jefferson was mostly a vegetarian

  7. Fact 6: • Peas were Jefferson's favorite food.

  8. Fact 7: • He owned slaves but wanted to end slavery because he knew it was wrong.

  10. Fact 9: • Thomas Jefferson and his friend and sometimes enemy, John Adams , both died on July 4th, 1826. He died a few hours before John Adams
