About what is it • Title: Public participation as a tool for NGOs • Duration: 2 days (for example: from Friday evening until Sunday lunch-time) • Number of participants: 12 to 18 • Target group: (semi) professional members of environmental organizations on a sub national level Milieukontakt
The aims of on-line training • Developing the accessible way for providing training on Arhus Convention; • Developing such kind of training that could be used by different stakeholders; • Offering training what could be attend in group or individually . • Offering possibility for commenting and giving feedback on training on line; Milieukontakt
Users - participants NGOs – participation in trainings in small groups or by each member participating individually; Trainers / facilitators / law teachers – use of models or materials, methods, handouts for providing trainings / classes on Aarhus Convention; Students – use of on-line training during classes; Lawyers – to improve their skills related to Aarhus Convention implementation; Individuals and others. Principles of this training are: • everything is related to the activities of the participants in their NGOs • the training is practical! • the target group is (semi)professional members of NGOs operating on a sub-national level • the training uses the methodology of Street Law in that theory is supported by cases, examples, questions and problems for the participants to solve • besides theory, skills are developed in games and role-plays Milieukontakt

What has been done until now? • On-line training on two pillars of Arhus Convention; • On-line trainings tested in several countries; • Improving on-line training after testing; • Considering elaboration of the training on third pillar on Acces to Justice; Milieukontakt
What has to be done now? • Proposing to set up a working group (a group of environmental lawyer, trainers on Arhus Convention, experts in this field who will be involved in developing trainings); • Testing training which will be elaborated; • Promoting it to different stakeholders; Milieukontakt
