  2. A 45 millions EU-funded pilot programme to support ACP commodities. Implementation of the programme has been entrusted to 5 international organisations. Expected results are: Participatory development & implementation of commodity strategies Access and use of markets, production factors and services Improved access to mkt-based Risk Mgt tools Enhanced complementarity & synergies among development partners

  3. An Innovative Complementary Implementation Mechanism Whichalso relies on regional and local organisations

Main Processes and Criteria for Resource Allocations Priority sectors and criteria identified by stakeholders: KOWs, MTR workshop Proposals are in line with Programme objectives with clear contribution to poverty reduction They come in implementation of national and/or regional strategies They favour inter agency collaboration (thru joint or complementary actions).

Support to strategy formulation • Participatory formulation of two sectoral strategies have been facilitated, by ITC for : • Fruits crops in Jamaica, and • Nutmeg & mace in Grenada, • with support from UNCTAD, FAO, WB & CFC and the participation of CARICOM, IICA and CARDI. • And implementation thereof, in terms of capacity building, market and product development: • Nutmeg & mace in Grenada • Food sector at regional level
