VERIFONE SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM • What is Annual Software Maintenance? • Every year, VeriFone makes a significant investment in our Point of Sale software applications to deliver valuable enhancements and the most feature-rich applications available in our industry. This ongoing investment helps VeriFone customers succeed in this highly competitive petroleum retail industry by delivering additional value and helping to reduce your operational expenses. In addition, the PCI Data Security Standard initiative requires VeriFone to certify our payment applications annually. This program also ensures that our customers POS systems, Payment devices and Smart fuel Solutions operate on the most up-to-date software version, which further streamlines the customer service and support process. It is important that you update your software to the latest version in order for your locations to also be PCI Compliant and this program is intended to help you do that. • How does the program work? • Each VeriFone customer will receive a notice for the opportunity to purchase Annual software Maintenance which includes 24x7 Help Desk support. VeriFone typically releases one to two new software version for each of the network application hosts supported (e.g. BUYPAK, CVXPAK, SHOPAK, EPSPAK, etc) each year. This program entitles our customers access to the current version of software supported by their host application throughout the year. • VeriFone will only support tow software versions of each network applications at any point in time: the current software version and the one previous software version. This will also streamline operations and help maintain competitive software maintenance costs across our industry. • When the software is downloaded from VeriFone Customer Portal, the customer or service technician must complete the software registration process to ensure ongoing product support. Customers who have not purchased annual Software Maintenance will not be able to receive or register the software. • What options does VeriFone Offer? • Each of the VeriFone POS systems (Ruby SuperSystem, Ruby Plus Sapphire and topaz XL), MX 800 Series PIN Pads, Secure PumpPAY dispenser payment device and the Smart Fuel Controller will require an upfront Software Maintenance license fee at the time of order placement. This per item fee covers the initial year of the Software Maintenance Program. • Annual Software Maintenance at the site level should be purchased by all customer locations to ensure ongoing customer support. • Our Primary Offering packages both Annual Software Maintenance and Help Desk • This all-inclusive, no risk plan ensures each customer location may receive the current software version available whenever it is needed. There is no limit to the number of times the customer site can download a software version and upgrade their network application. This service option also includes an annual Help Desk contract. For every Software Maintenance Plan, the customer is still responsible for any service technician site-based fees that may be required to download and/or activate the software. • If you fall behind in the Annual Software Maintenance, you may catch up with an Instant Enrollment Option • This plan provides an option for customers who have a lapse in coverage of Annual Software Maintenance, or have failed to enroll with in the first three months the program was offered, August 1st, 2010 – November 1s, 2010.
