Producer • A living thing that makes its own food • Mostly green plants • Connection (like produce section of the grocery store)
Consumer • Living things that eat food • Examples of consumers are sharks, tigers, and people.
Three Types of Consumers • Herbivore: plant eater • Carnivore: meat eater • Omnivore: eats all things
Prey • Any animal that is hunted by others as food.
Predator • A consumer that hunts other animals as food.
Food Chain • The movement of energy from one type of living thing to another.
Food Web • The flow of energy between food chains which ties a community together. meat fish Man plants birds
