  4. TRANSCENDENT Above and beyond the material world, outside time and space and human understanding. IMPERSONAL PERSONAL A power without emotions, desires, thoughts and other human qualities that make up a personality. Has a human-like personality and is capable of relating to humans on a personal level. GOD IMMANENT Closely involved in the world, both at the universal level and as a presence with every individual believer.

  5. HOMEWORK “It is better to have an immanent God than a transcendent one.” Do you agree? Give reasons for your answer. • Discuss the definitions of immanence and transcendence • Discuss what an immanent but not transcendent God would be like. • Discuss what a transcendent but not immanent God would be like • State your conclusion.
