All about the Author Barry Denenburg was born on April 6, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. He has written many historical fiction series including Dear America, My Name is America, and the Royal Diaries. He first became interested in writing historical fiction novels when he got out of college and his future wife, Jean Fiewel, offered him the job to write a biography on John F. Kennedy. Besides writing, he enjoys to listen to music, swim, practice yoga, and spend time with his family. He now lives in Bedford, New York with his wife and daughter.
