Before the Treadmill • Minneapolis 311 has 28 employees total • Hours are 7 am – 7 pm • Pre Survey indicated that of 23 staff that responded, 91% had never used a treadmill workstation. • 82% said they were somewhat or extremely likely to use it regularly with 60% saying daily. • 95% of staff said they had a desire to increase physical activity, 85% would like to sit less at work and 79% want to relieve stress.
After Install • Treadmill station implemented on May 3rd, 2011 so it is fairly new. • Have not promoted use at this point but plans are in progress to do more • All employees trained & waiver signed. • 35% of staff are using it regularly (daily)
Results for first 6 Weeks • Logged 130.5 hours (This includes a very busy time for agents that were dealing with the Tornado aftermath). • Logged 234.41 total miles • Burned 30,204 calories • 15% more contacts while on treadmill than their own daily averages. • Utilization on the treadmill is 9% higher than the rest of the call center at the same time. ** Utilization is Percent of logon time spent handling contacts in work state and available state.
