THE WEST AND THE WORLD GRADE 12 UNIVERSITY PREPARATION CHY 4U 1715-1815: A CENTURY IN REVIEW NEWSPAPER (Culminating Activity) Students will act as the editor of a special edition of their local newspaper. The year is 1815. Through selecting the most important person, event, or idea in affecting change from 1715-1815, students will create and incorporate stories, visual representations, political cartoons, and primary sources into a professional two page newspaper spread. Students will then need to convince their peers that their draft should be the one chosen for publication! Finally students will need to reflect on how their chosen subject is still relevant today.
