ITQ in Hospitability • Increase productivity of the hospitality & tourism sector in Yorkshire & Humber • Develop on line presence • Market themselves on line • Improve efficiency & productivity • Supporting 500 individual employees throughout 400 small to medium sized companies in the region

  9. 3.Logistics • Addressing skill shortages within the Ports, Logistics & Distribution sector • Holistic package of accredited & non accredited activity leading to a sustained & improved sector: • Workforce & Management Development • Technical Skills • Personal Development • Transport based qualifications • Health & Safety • Sea, Rail & Air based qualifications • Supported 90 companies & 245 individuals to date

  10. 4.International Communication Skills • Language & cultural skills for export & joint ventures in overseas markets • Strengthen Y & H productivity • Non accredited training in: • Customised language training • Customised intercultural & cross cultural training • Supporting 240 individuals within 100 companies across the region

  11. 5.Vendor Qualifications • Increasing capacity of the regions specialist education & training providers to deliver ICT & Digital media vendor qualifications • Supporting business in the digital sector • Prince 2 • Microsoft Vendor qualifications • Apple Certificate • Adobe • Cisco • Red Hat • Level 2- 4 or equivalent • Supporting over 1000 individuals within 250 companies

The Fund • The Fund was established to engage with employers in Y&H to invest in skills to develop and increase the skills base of the region. • We have had a successful year and we are seeking to inject a further £20m into the fund and to extend the delivery period to March 2012. • Established a strong relationship with providers and intermediaries enabling us to offer support to over 6000 employers.

  18. Flexibilities • The Fund has been responsive to economic and policy changes and will continue to do so. • Response to the economic downturn • Established the Enhancement Redundancy Fund. Supported 1,360 individuals in 58 companies between Nov 08 and August 09. • Continue to support those in a redundancy situation that can not be supported under the National Response to Redundancy fund.

  19. Established Time to Train - support to employers where they are encouraging their employees, including apprentices, and those under notice to access learning. • Support to core funding • £2m to support Adult Apprenticeships, which will offer NVQ and full frameworks to 1,200 people in Y&H

  20. 2010/2011 • Moving forward we will be working closely with strategic partners and groups eg Work and Skills Board • More commissioning, based on analysis of demand. This will be responsive to the needs of both employers and the economy and future skills needs
