LANDFORMS. PLATEAU. An area of land that is flat but rises higher than the land around it. VALLEY. A low land between hills or mountains. DESERT. An area where there is little or no rainfall. GULF. A part of the ocean that is partially surrounded by land. HILL.

  2. PLATEAU An area of land that is flat but rises higher than the land around it.

  3. VALLEY A low land between hills or mountains.

  4. DESERT An area where there is little or no rainfall

  5. GULF A part of the ocean that is partially surrounded by land

  6. HILL Gently sloping land that is not as high as a mountain.

  7. ISLAND Land surrounded by water (on every side!)

  8. LAKE Water surrounded by land (all around-opposite of Island)

  9. MOUNTAIN High, rocky land with steep sides

  10. OCEAN Large body of salt water.

  11. PLAIN A broad (large) area of level or treeless country.

  12. River Flowing water that empties into a large body of water.

  13. PENINSULA Land that is surrounded by land only on three sides.
