Agriculture minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Brijmohan Agarwal was invited as a special guest for the closing ceremony of the four-day event of the eighth Agro Vision at Silk garden in Nagpur.
He said to increase farmers income, modern farming practices and technology needs to be encouraged among farmers. It was a national agricultural exhibition. The agricultural scientists and agricultural experts guided farmers through workshops on farming.
While addressing the function, Shri Brijmohan Agarwal said that using new technologies in agriculture will reduce the cost of farming.
The addition of conventional crops to cash crops will help farmers to improve their economic situation. After the main harvest, to promote the cultivation of other cash crops and green vegetables is also required.
At the function, Shri Brijmohan Agarwal particularly discussed the agricultural development in Chhattisgarh. He said that the state's agriculture growth rate is higher than the national growth rate.
In the eleventh five year plan period(2007-08 to 2011-12), the national agricultural growth rate was 3.3 percent while the agricultural growth rate in Chhattisgarh was 6.3 percent. Twelfth and national agricultural growth rate is 3 percent. Agriculture growth Rate
