  2. SYSTEM OPERATION • ALLOWS HEADLIGHTS TO AUTOMATICALLY TURN ON WHEN AMBIENT LIGHT DECREASES • ALLOW LIGHTS TO STAY ON AFTER KEY OFF POSITION FOR PREDETERMINED TIME • CAN BE INTERGRATED WITH OTHER LIGHTING SYSTEMS ALSO

  3. COMPONENTS • PHOTOCELL • AMPLFIER • POWER RELAY • TIMER CONTROL • HEADLIGHT SWITCH • HEADLIGHT BULBS

  4. PHOTOCELLAMPLIFIER • Senses outside light • Internal resistance increases with less light. • When resistance value reaches predetermined value, lights go on. • Triggers autolamp relay • Point of turn on is adjustable CLASS 408

  5. L461 PHOTOCELL REPLACEMENT • Usually located on top of dash. • Usually built into amplifier assembly on Ford products • Cleanliness is important to interior work See Photo Sequence # 14

  6. POWER RELAY • Provides Power to Headlights in Auto mode. • Can test like any relay
