Climate 4 Learning & LORIC Every student has the right to learn in school, make progress and achieve their potential. Every student also has a responsibility to not interrupt or disturb the learning of others. • Our C4L system outlines our behaviour expectations. • We use LORIC to encourage independent learners. • We reward good and outstanding learning and behaviour every day.
Key Stage 3 Uniform Code Our uniform helps us: • To look professional and smart. • To show we take pride in our school and appearance. • To adhere to health and safety guidelines. • To be part of a community. • To allow students to concentrate on learning whilst being sure everyone looks equal.

Internet Safety The Internet is a good place… However … • Students need to know that it is a REAL place with REAL dangers.
Stourport High School Headlines 51% Use the Internet everyday. 52 % for 1-2 hrs/day, 31% for 2+ hrs/day. Most use it for gaming and chatting. 35% have access to the Internet in their bedrooms. 25 students have met up with a virtual friend in the real world. 7 of those did not take an adult!
Tips … https://ceop.police.uk/ • Students as part of their ICT lessons/assemblies will receive more information and training with regard to Internet Safety throughout the year. • Teach Internet Safety whenever you are on the computer with your children - it is a taught skill! Talk to them. • Investigate the privacy settings, protect your children. • Know what your children are doing online. • Ask your children to teach you how to use any applications. • Keep the computer in a family room - this means you can keep more control of what they do (i.e. Webcams). • Think about parental control software - at school we use Forensic/Policy Central. • Ensure that you have access to all passwords/accounts. https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/ www.westmercia.police.uk
Looking Forward • To a positive partnership and sharing success. • Term starts for Year 7 at 8:45am on Wednesday 6 September 2017 in the Main Hall (only Year 7 all day). • Year 7 Tutors’ Evening in October 2017. This is an opportunity to meet with tutors to discuss progress in the first half-term.
