He completed medical school from the National University of Singapore and clinical ophthalmology training at the Singapore National Eye Centre. He also has a MPH and PhD from the Johns Hopkins University. Professor Wong has completed two post-doctoral research fellowships at Johns Hopkins and at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, as well as clinical fellowships at SNEC (Uveitis) and Westmead Hospital, University of Sydney (Medical Retina).
