Yesterday, we discussed the 5 Core Skills that you are developing across your range of subjects. Can you remember what they are?

Making Connections: Developing these Skills Across Subjects • In order to further develop these skills, it is important to recognise that you are developing them in more than one subject. • Your learning in one subject can support your learning in another subject or in many more subjects.
Linking Subjects Together: Discussion Point • How can your learning in English support your learning in Physics, Chemistry or Biology? • Which core skills do you develop in both subjects?
Scenario For example: • When learning about the Wars of Independence in National 5 History, you could be asked to examine the different views of William Wallace by evaluating resources and writing a newspaper report. • You may also be given an opportunity to re-enact Wallace’s trial. • How do these tasks connect with other subjects? • What subjects? • What Core Skills are being developed?
