Welcome Back Third Grade Mr. West-King. Who am I?. Graduated and received credential from San Diego State Earned masters through Grand Canyon University I have been teaching for 16 years. I taught sixth grade for 3 years. I taught third grade for 6 years.

Who am I? • Graduated and received credential from San Diego State • Earned masters through Grand Canyon University • I have been teaching for 16 years. • I taught sixth grade for 3 years. • I taught third grade for 6 years. • I taught fifth grade for one year. • I taught fourth grade for 6 years. • Now happy to be back in third. • I have been living in Temecula for 17 years with my wife and two kids.
Class Expectations • At school, on time. • Work done with best effort and on time. • Class rules based on 3 R’s (Respect, Responsibility, and Restraint)
Homework Students will be assigned homework on a nightly basis. They will write it down on their homework logs before going home each day. Your child should be spending approximately 45 to 50 minutes a night on homework, Monday-Thursday, as required by the school district. It will be evaluated on your child’s report card. Homework is checked and collected the next day • Focus Skill • Math • Reading • Sometimes Science or Social Studies

How can you help? • Make sure students arrive on time, daily • Insure that students are well rested and have healthy breakfast • Support their studies/ Read with students-ask about vocabulary and check for understanding • Check their homework, sign the Binder Minder • Join the PTA • Volunteer, if possible • Room Parent • Correct papers • Help out in room
