  1. AARNetPerfSONARDeployment APAN 29 Sydney 11thFebruary, 2010

  2. International Links

  3. Performance testing All links to Australia are high latency – 14,500 kms from Seattle to Sydney. Result is BDP is high and stack tuning essential for reasonable data transfers. Mainly the result of being Down Under as well as between the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Growing number of Institutions connecting at 10G Need to continually monitor links Normally performance being monitored with continual testing and AdHoc demand testing by AARNet NOC. Installation of MLAB machine in AARNet Sydney A PoP over next week – - NDT and NPAD. - see http://www.measurementlab.net/ HEP community have installed PerfSONAR at University of Melbourne primarily to monitor the path to TRIUMF. Also PS performance Node at Monash University

  4. Domestic Links Dual 10 Gbps circuits All IPv4/IPv6 dual stack

  5. PerfSONAR Deployment • Required primarily to Measure and Monitor performance of 10Gbps paths. Problem of available ports in Seattle solved and 10GE card now ordered. • Initially to deploy services over the next few months initially BWCTL/OWAMP and some SNMP: • Seattle • Sydney • Melbourne • Perth
