Vivisection • Means dissection of non-living human animals • Used for medical and cosmetic research • Proven to the a reliable tool to help us understand how animals function • How some animals are immune to certain diseases • And how to cure diseases as well

Thalidomide • Was given to pregnant women to help reduce morning sickness • Resulted in 10,000 birth defects • Thousands of fetal deaths • Some suffered form Phocomelia referred to as “flipper babies” • When babies' hands are attached to their arms and legs
